Military expert Sergiy Recordsky has assured in an interview with Radio NV that “the Russian Federation is losing the rhythm of the offensive” in the most infernal region of the war unleashed by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, against Ukraine in February 2022.
Grabsky has analyzed the situation in the front and stressed that the eastern sector is “fundamental” for Russian troops. For Russia, “Donetsk’s oriental solution is the main task of the operation, the current campaign and later campaigns,” he explained.
“I doubt that they can fulfill the tasks that have been set: the occupation of all the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk during this campaign. But there we face tremendous pressure. And when the enemy, having the opportunity to overcome ourselves in number five or seven times, advances, consequently, advances,” he said.
He then pointed out that in these areas, “even considering some factors of human resistance capacity, we must admit that we cannot always maintain positions under control. The situation there is certainly very difficult, but it is what we are doing now to the fullest.”
“Thus, the enemy is losing the rhythm of the offensive. At the beginning of July we will see the results, and then we can draw certain conclusions. Now the fighting continue and the intensity we observe is constantly high. That is the problem,” he said.
The most difficult area of the front, as he has reviewed, remains between Pokrovskoye and Kostyantynynivka, with an operational and strategic importance. “The fact that the enemy can penetrate the Dnipropetrovsk region or in other directions makes the work of the troops that defend the area. We must understand that the enemy can also penetrate there, since we are forced to dilute our battle formations,” he said.
Thus, he has said that they already feel a shortage of personnel. “There has always been a shortage of weapons and team; a shortage, not critical, but there is. But we must understand that we still have to solve the problem of strengthening our main sector of the front,” he stressed.
