With the arrival of summer there is one of the most anticipated events by much of the population of Spanish towns and cities: municipal fairs. For this reason, the Civil Guard has announced that it will intensify security controls in all aspects, although with special attention to food products.

Thus, the body communicated that it has been increasing these controls since April, and so far, there are already more than 3,100 kilos of foods that it has analyzed and controlled by food prevention only in Cádiz. And that so far, it has resulted in 150 complaints of infractions against food security.

As reported, the controls are being carried out in collaboration with the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Civil Guard of Cádiz. And there are more than 1,200 kilos of fish and seafood analyzed, in addition to other almost 2,000 kilos of meats, as the digital medium points out The economist.

And, in this type of festivities, it is very common for many street vendors and food stalls to violate the law and do not comply with current regulations, putting the safety and integrity of citizens at risk. Therefore, they began to carry out inspections of all kinds in most fairs in numerous municipalities, which seems to be extended to many other provinces.

The main crimes that are discussed in these types of events have to do with food traceability, especially with expired products, without labeling or in poor condition. Thus, in addition to the Civil Guard, there are other institutions and agencies aimed at preventing these fraudulent practices with public health veterinarians and municipal technicians.
